In March, The Extension transitioned a record number of six men from our men’s program. Not only is that the highest number of transitions ever, but they are also the first transitions from the new off-site housing program. The program, funded by the Assurance America Corporation, allows ten men and four ladies to live off-site for the last three months of their program. During this time, they continue to participate in the program as if they were still living on campus, participating in classes, meetings, counseling, and meals but living just a short distance away. This gives our senior residents a smoother transition out into the community and frees up space for those coming into the program who are in crisis. We now have the capacity to serve a total of 82 people, 57 men, and 25 women!
