The Extension is a non-profit, community supported organization
providing addiction recovery services to low income people within
our community, including residential treatment for homeless men. In
addition to our residential program, we offer out-patient counseling
services and various community outreach initiatives. In fact, our
organization began with a commitment to outreach by providing
emergency shelter during the winter months.
Our goal is simple: that those that come to us for help never again depend on drugs to get them high or charity to get them by. We work hard to help them become accountable to themselves, their family and the community. From a humble beginning as a winter shelter we grew to become the largest provider of comprehensive addiction recovery services for homeless men in the north Metro Atlanta area. We do this while maintaining our commitment to the community to provide emergency shelter to anyone on the coldest nights of the year. Our addiction treatment services address the root causes of addiction. In addition to individual and group addiction counseling we offer various related counseling services, a comprehensive life skills program and other services to help those we serve succeed.
