The Extension Honors
Four of Our Heroes with New Annual Awards
The first annual Dr. Judith A. Hoyt Award for Community
Leadership was recently presented to the Honorable Phil Gingrey, M.D., U.S.
Representative from Georgia's 11th District, for
his tremendous help in the creation of our
women's program. The award is named in
honor of Dr. Judith A. Hoyt who has meant so
much to us and who gave us the confidence we
needed to develop our women’s recovery program,
when the challenges seemed overwhelming.
The Dr.
Karl Steinichen Award for Volunteer Service was
presented in its inaugural year to Rhea Pridgen in
recognition of her tireless dedication to the
women served by The Extension's Barbara J.
Crafton Center and for her vigorous advocacy on
behalf of all those served by the organization.
This award is named in honor of Dr. Karl
Steinichen who has tended to the physical and
spiritual needs of our residents for well over a
decade. |

Items
Especially Needed This Fall
Bright, crisp
mornings and falling leaves tell of colder
weather ahead, and with it comes our need for
blankets, and men's and women's coats and
jackets. We also have an immediate need for
socks and underwear, as well as towels, pillows and pillow
cases. Please share
these items with us if you can. Of course,
supplies and other items on our
Needs List are always needed.—Thank
you! |
