When the clients come in and tell their stories at the Board meetings. Then I know the program is working. What better way to measure success than by the clients and their true response success stories? Another thing I like about the board is the diversity that is represented. In diversity, I mean in terms of age, race, socioeconomic backgrounds. I am a part of that diversity and bring a different perspective. We all are so different, but there is a common cause, a common thread that draws us together, and that is the recovery and care of our residents. I like seeing us come together in unity for the good of the men and women we serve. We do it well.

My name is John Scaduto. I have been involved with activities at the Extension for over 12 years. For the last 3 years I have been fortunate to serve as a board member. I moved, with my wife and two children, to Cobb County, Georgia over 21 years ago from New York. Four years ago, after working as an accountant/tax professional for over 47 years I retired. I still have a small tax practice to keep me busy. In addition to the tax practice and my work with the extension I am on the board of a small organization, Give Homeless Hope, that provides food, clothing and supplies to the homeless. Working with the individuals at the Extension and the homeless has made me realize how fortunate and blessed I am. One of my main goals in life now is to try and help these individuals realize that they can become valuable members of society and enjoy a healthy relationship with their family and loved ones.
